Spoon Bay Sunrise
I had a great morning with the Focus group today at Spoon Bay hosted by Wayne Gibson. As you can see we had some great light and great location. This was a new location for me and one i'll be visiting again.
Rocks @ Spoon Bay - Central Coast NSW Australia.
I thought I might share some settings and processing I did in order to capture this seascape. I don't normally do this as I think you need to do what you need to do in order to present the images for viewing. In camera and post. I do realise though that there are new photographers out there who want to know what others are doing.
Camera Settings:
- Canon 6D
- ISO 100
- Aperture f/8
- Shutter 1/3 Sec.
- Lee Filter 3 stop Hard Graduated Neutral Density
Post Processing:
In Adobe Camera Raw I did basic fixes like. Lens Correction, Straightening the horizon, White Balance & Auto Levels as you can see below. Remember a Raw file has all of the Camera's processing settings removed and then you have to add (to your liking) the settings back including sharpening

Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 Layers Panel:
Besides the processing I did in the below Panel I removed a ship on the horizon and some bird droppings from the rock as I thought they were distracting to the view.
I also ran a sharpening script from Tony Kuyper.
Location: Spoon Bay, Australia.
